Congratulations to Wachovia Bank and
The Miami Herald's Parent of the Month for January, AgES
Booster Organization president Betsy Sullivan Sharp. Mrs.
Sharp is dedicated to Coral Reef High School and has two
children attending. In addition, she also serves as president
of the FFA Alumni Board volunteering many hours a week.
She initiates and organizes activities involving fund raising
to support the numerous student competitions both in Miami
and at districts, state and nationals. On weekend fieldtrips,
Mrs. Sharp is on call 24 hours/day. She works closely with
academy teachers on "wish lists." As a scout leader,
Betsy Sharp is a community activist for children. She is
organized, committed to public school education and for
the past four years has been enthusiastic in helping The
Reef maintain its #1 status. Her positive spirit, her sincerity
and her willingness to share are contagious and bring an
enlightening power to both AgEs and FFA parent organizations.
Kudos to the Visual & Performing Arts Academy and International
Baccalaureate Academy Tech Crew members who helped produce
an outstanding Black History Show under the tutelage of
drama coach Ana Mederos: Jamie M. Wheeler, Thomas J. Badey,
Lisa V. Coleman, Andrea C. Ferrer, Paulina Garcia, Panayotis
Stavrinos, Vincent N. Solomon and Yasmin N. Chebbi.
The Reef welcomes Jeanne Harper to CAP and notices that
her office is already filled with seniors and juniors "taking
care of business."
