FLTDC Foreign Language Competition 
MIAMI (March 15, 2010) - The Association of Foreign Language Teachers of Dade County (FLTDC) sponsored the FLTDC Foreign Language Competition on Saturday, March 13, 2010. International Baccalaureate students Laura Espaillat, Steven Montero and Natalia Rojas-Valois all placed in advanced-level written and oral competitions. Steven Montero received First Place in Impromptu Speaking, and Natalia Rojas-Valois received First Place in Poetry Recitation. Laura and Steven are seniors and Natalia is a sophomore. These students along with their teacher, Dr. Anthony Krupp, go on to compete at the state level in April. Herzlichen Glueckwunsch!    |

A Day at the University of Miami’s Society of Women Engineers 
MIAMI (March 9, 2010) - The University of Miami’s Society of Women Engineers sponsored a day for female students from the Engineering Academy at Coral Reef Senior High School. The Society of Women Engineers (SWE), founded in 1950, is a not-for-profit educational and service organization. SWE is the driving force that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders.    |
